Architectural Controls will be implemented in The Meadows to\u00a0ensure homes built will meet\u00a0standards that are envisioned by Essex Developments.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/h3>\n

The Design Guidelines<\/h2>\n

The overall design theme in The Meadows will reflect a traditional community. Home styles will be a contemporary interpretation of varying traditional styles, with a broad selection of sizes. There will be something for everyone ensuring, that the homes are designed true to the traditional styles and professionally-created Architectural Guidelines.<\/p>\n

The Design Guidelines will enhance the integrity of the development\u00a0and ensure that each home that gets built will add value to the\u00a0community. The guidelines have been prepared to promote a high\u00a0level of architectural detail, ensure a pleasing building form, and\u00a0promote an awareness of environmental sustainability.\u00a0The intent of these guidelines is to create a community of harmony\u00a0and continuity, while allowing distinct traditional architectural styles\u00a0to offer variety and accentuate the essence of The Meadows.<\/p>\n

The Architectural Coordinator<\/h2>\n

The Architectural Coordinator will also complete a review of all house\u00a0plans to ensure compliance. An \u201cApproved\u201d stamp must be issued on\u00a0the Elevations and Plot Plan prior to the builder submitting a building\u00a0permit application to the City of Estevan. All construction must\u00a0comply with the current Land Use Bylaw and the Saskatchewan\u00a0Building Code. Construction may only begin upon receipt of a\u00a0Building Permit from the City of Estevan and a Grade Slip from the\u00a0Architectural Coordinator.<\/p>\n

Conformity with the Guidelines does not\u00a0supersede the required City of Estevan\u2019s approval process.<\/p>\n

Moving to Estevan, Saskatchewan?\u00a0The Estevan area is rich in energy resources and has a substantial history of trade\u00a0and industry. Agriculture is one of the area’s major industries. Our farms and ranches\u00a0produce wheat, oil seeds, and livestock (cattle, horses, elk, deer, wild boar, and bison).<\/p>\n

The Power of Estevan<\/h2>\n

Estevan is also a coal-mining centre. Sherritt Coal Ltd is the mining company in the\u00a0area. The coal is burned in two huge power plants, the Boundary Dam Power Station\u00a0and the Shand Power Station. The plants, owned and operated by the Saskatchewan\u00a0Power Corporation, supply the lion’s share of the Saskatchewan’s electricity needs.<\/p>\n

Six\u00a0thousand oil wells are located within a 160 km radius of Estevan. Most wells are owned\u00a0and serviced by companies located in Estevan. Oil and gas exploration and production\u00a0have a great impact on the local economy. The oil and gas industry is Saskatchewan’s\u00a0largest revenue source. Many people in Estevan are employed in the coal, oil, gas,\u00a0and power industries. Due to its strong natural resource and industry base, Estevan is\u00a0known as the “Energy Capital of Saskatchewan.” It proudly calls itself the “Energy City.\u201d<\/p>\n
